Applications are invited for the position of Senior Officer with the Murray Darling Association. The position is based in Echuca Vic.
The Murray Darling Association is a membership-based peak body representing local government at the state and federal level in the development and implementation of policy relating to management of Murray-Darling Basin resources.
The key duties of the MDA Senior Officer position are to support the CEO and regional chairs of the MDA; engage with member councils, local, state and federal stakeholders across the Murray Darling Basin, as well as administrative tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the MDA executive office.
The position will suit an agile and motivated professional with an understanding of Basin issues, strong interpersonal communication skills, and experience with local government. Required skills and experience include:
Qualifications and/or experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy or similar fields
An understanding of Australia's system of government and parliamentary processes
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to respond to rapid changes and expectations on work routines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
Excellent organisational, scheduling, diary and time-management skills
An understanding of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge on, policy and political issues
The position is offered on a permanent basis with a commencing salary of between $67,684 - $78,462 dependant on experience. A probationary period of 3 months will apply.
