In light of the current and emerging circumstances around COVID-19, the Murray Darling Association (MDA) will reschedule the Basin Communities Leadership Program (BCLP) workshops in the Lower Lakes and Loxton to a date to be determined subject to government advice.
Applicants who have already applied to the BCLP program in Lower Lakes and Loxton will not need to re-apply for the program and will be notified by the MDA team of the new dates when these are available. The workshops are likely to be rescheduled to December this year.
“The start of the year has been a challenging one for communities across the Basin, with ongoing impacts from devastating bushfires, drought and now the effects of Covid-19,” Murray Darling Chief Executive Office Emma Bradbury.
“The communities’ health and safety is fundamental to our operations and the MDA is carefully monitoring the Covid-19 circumstances so that we can deliver these important leadership workshops as soon as possible.”
Additionally, the MDA would like to encourage community members and leaders interested in the program to continue their applications to the BCLP, particularly during these COVID-19 circumstances, as the first part of the program can be completed online.
Following the selection panel, BCLP participants will have access to an online learning platform, where they will be required to complete courses covering leadership, water literacy and project management.
